Frequently asked questions

We have gathered answers to the most common questions about this piece and its purpose.

View All Questions
Can it be personalized?

At present, we do not offer standard personalization options. If you have a specific request, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to explore what may be possible.

How are the materials finished?

All our stone is honed: smoothly ground to a soft, matte surface and otherwise left untreated, preserving its natural colour, pattern and character. Due to the naturally porous character of travertine, the inside of the compartment of our travertine Trays is sealed. The oak has a natural finish that preserves its grain and tactile character.

Which urn is right for me?

The Tray is a full urn with a concealed compartment of 2.8 litres, for ashes and personal keepsakes. The Scarab is a keepsake urn of 0.1 litres, made to hold a small portion of ashes. If you are unsure which piece suits your situation, we are happy to guide you personally.

How much do the urns hold?

The Tray holds 2.8 litres; the Scarab 0.1 litres, made for a small portion of ashes. The volume of ashes after cremation differs from person to person, depending on build and other factors, and can be larger than a single Tray holds. If you are unsure which piece suits your situation, we are happy to guide you personally.

Can ashes be shared between family members?

Yes. The Scarab is designed to hold a small portion of ashes, so loved ones can each keep a piece of remembrance close, alongside a Tray or another resting place.

Are the urns suitable for the ashes of a pet?

Yes. All our pieces are suitable for the ashes of a beloved animal companion.

Can the urn be placed in a grave or columbarium?

Our pieces are designed to live indoors, among the objects you love. If you would like to place a stone urn in a grave or columbarium, please contact us. We will gladly look into what is possible as a special request.

Can the lid be sealed?

Yes. For permanent closure, we recommend sealing the oak lid with a two-component adhesive such as Polymax.

Can I see the pieces before choosing?

Yes, by appointment. We also offer personal guidance by phone or video call.
